First Friday Art Walk

For those of you who have been following the development of The Gallery at Harmon's and Barton's, this First Friday celebrates our second year anniversary that the store stayed open for First Friday!! On Mother's Day weekend of 2008, we stayed open for the First Friday activities for the first time. The Gallery upstairs was not open yet and we didn't have a visiting artist yet, but we highlighted the talent and creativity of our floral designers, and, thanks to all of your support and encouragement, the rest, shall we say, is history! It has been alot of work to change out artists every month, but we've had so much fun and have met some of the most interesting, unique and amazingly artistically devoted people through these two years!
In the past couple of months, we've chosen to branch out a little in the mediums that we've brought into The Gallery. This month follows that venue. Designer, Denise Adams, brings her love of color and respect for recycling to The Gallery in the form of stunning contemporary stained glass windows in antique window frames. Each piece is a one-of-a-kind treasure and we are so proud and pleased to present this first gallery showing for Denise! In addition, special mention goes to Denise's husband, Tim Myers, for his creativity in the installation of her art, and to Dave Collins, friend and favorite electrician, for his special electrical touches to enhance the windows!!
Looking forward to seeing all of you Friday night! And, a reminder, if you haven't placed your Mother's Day flower orders yet, visit www.harmonsbartons.com or call 1-800-786-5459!
